Finding the good in 2020

Finding the good in 2020

It would be pretty easy to find 20 reasons to fret about how hard it was and let 2020 go as a year that was all bad..

And yet, there are 20 reasons the experience has me grateful for some of what was in 2020...

1. I lost all track of the time, day or the week, month and as such was constantly reminded that #momentsmatter

2. While getting sucked into nonsensical political debates, I learned so much about the way the Government was established and is supposed to work on behalf of We The People, not me and my political party.

3. So many of my friends on Facebook are incredibly generous and prefer to #GSD than spew a bunch of words.

4. So many people recognize talent, skills and abilities and refuse to believe in the labels that are supposed to define their essence.

5. Too many of my friends buried loved ones, alone and somehow they seem to be the source of strength so many count on.

6. Disease management did not go away due to COVID and some still battle and choose #loveandlaughter as their medical go to.

7. I spent more time in nature and searching for trails in this region that I ever dreamed I would.

8. I was granted the gift of a fourth grandchild.

9. My father never saw a hospital bed this last year.

10. My children live within 20 minutes of my home.

11. My friends were astonishingly supportive and caring of me and one another.

12. I did not have to flee a country due to war, flee a fire, flee a flood or lose my home.

13. I recovered from a nasty case of COVID, the shingles and falling off a horse and seemed to become far more committed to what healthy means for anyone at any age.

14. I was keenly aware of those who could not see their families as they lived overseas and the bans due to religion and disease were brutal.

15. I fell in love with my kitchen and all the joy it brings so many.

16. I stood up for myself when necessary and stood down when it was the right thing to do.

17. I was grateful for the business and more importantly referrals that were sent to QuestEssential.

18. I painted a few rooms in my condo, refinished furniture, painted on canvas and went through all my drawers, closets and pretty much everything else to downsize and maybe upsize for someone else.

19. I wrote and read more this past year and certainly considered the effects of who wrote the histories we have all believed in.

20. I connected with more people in 2020 than I can recall in the years before. Zoom and the voice on the other end of the phone helped me really love my daily life and that no matter what #momentsmatter

Happy reflection day and peas be with you:)
