Finding Empowerment & Leadership Language in Unexpected Places

Finding Empowerment & Leadership Language in Unexpected Places

I work out at two gyms each week.

One is Cowboys Fit and the other is a small CrossFit gym in a warehouse.

The CrossFit gym owner is very religious and attends the same church I do. They do declarations out loud before each class.

Dontae and me are good church people too, but we cuss a little and like “inappropriate music”

One day a client complained about the music we had on and the owner had to discuss with Dontae proper radio etiquette. Lol

While working out, Dontae is telling me the story and he says “it reminds me of one time I got reprimanded at church. They said ‘We need you to work on using your leadership language’ and I was like wut?”

It made me realize I gotta get better with words.

I would have just said “watch your mouth” but a master communicator says “use leadership language”

One is degrading the other is empowering. I need more of that.

Sometimes the biggest nuggets of knowledge come from the most obscure conversations.

Which is why you always need to be listening.
