Finding comfort in ancient wisdom

Finding comfort in ancient wisdom

I won't ask how you are.

If you are fortunate like me, I suspect you are getting by - walking, talking and working - finding pleasure at times in the change of pace, time with family and I hope, time in nature.

I know for many however things are not so easy?- perhaps what I mentioned above is not available to you and?either way, you will find yourself consumed on occasion by the inevitable anxiety that accompanies uncertainty. So, I wanted to share some wisdom that has been of comfort to me.

This too shall pass.

You know this of course,?it's not original or new. In fact, the origins of this phrase has been traced back centuries to?the works of Sufi poets. It?is also echoed in?the ancient Aboriginal teaching of?Dadirri, shared by Australian Senior of the Year and Elder, Dr Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr Baumann.?

"We don’t worry. We know that in time and in the spirit of dadirri (that deep listening and quiet stillness) the way will be clear.
We are River people. We cannot hurry the river. We have to move with its current and understand its ways."

So as the weeks continue to pass us by (is it really almost spring?) and we continue to ride the waves, I hope this age-old wisdom provides some comfort to you,

And if you would like further support, leadership development or simply a new experience to help meaningfully pass the time, we invite you to join us at one of our many online small group immersions and professional development?experiences.

Is there a source of wisdom that has been of comfort to you? Please share it in the comments - it may be just what someone in your network needs to hear today.
