How important is clarity to you in your life?
For me, it’s really important because I like to be able to see the answers. I’m ok not being able to see the whole picture, but I definitely prefer being clear on what might happen.
It’s like the ocean. I’m ok swimming in the ocean, not being able to see the bottom, but I love to be in the Caribbean where the water is clear, and I can see what’s swimming there and see the shells on the bottom. That clarity also gives you early terror warnings that some fish or sea animal may be coming your way.
Do you prefer the element of surprise or seeing it coming? I don't know which one is worse.
How does clarity fit into our lives?
?? Clarity of our purpose in life
?? Clarity of our goals, what we’re working towards, why, and how we’ll get there
?? Clarity of our priorities
?? Clarity of the meaning of our words and actions
?? Clarity of the value of the relationships we have or are lacking
?? Clarity on the next step to take
?? Clarity on how a situation will play out
?? Clarity on how to spend the next vacation
And the list goes on to include all the little and the big things.
Are you feeling clarity in all of these areas? ?I doubt any of us could say yes to all the areas because there is unknown in the world, and our perspectives change with new information.
As leaders, we are expected to be able to make decisions even when things are not clear. Most of us crave a greater level of certainty, particularly when the decisions have significant consequences. If you're in this situation, it can be easy to feel paralyzed because of the uncertainty.
So, what do we do about wanting more clarity?
?? It starts with writing down what we do know.
?? Then writing down what we wish we knew.
?? And then creating a plan to figure out what we want to know.
??And then following through.

As we head into the weekend, it’s a good time to sit down and ponder some of these hard questions. Prioritize finding a quiet space where you can reflect.
If you’re up for the challenge because you know that you’re in a situation that’s murky and not clear, here are some reflection questions:
?What do you wish you were more clear about today??
?What would or could change if you did have that clarity?
?How much is that clarity worth to you?
?What will prevent you from finding clarity?
Clarity often comes when we quiet our minds, change the scenery we’re surrounded by, and write down what’s in our heads so we can get get a sense of what we are feeling, whom we’re trying to be, and what we’re trying to do. ?
What’s it worth to find some clarity today?
Are you ready to invest your time and energy to find it so that you can be a more intentional leader?

1 年I completely agree with you. Clarity is so important in life, especially when it comes to making decisions and taking action. It's like having a clear vision of where you're going and what you're doing. It can definitely help us avoid some unwanted surprises!

1 年I totally agree with you! Having clarity in life can help us navigate through uncertain waters and prepare for what's to come. It's like having a clear map to follow instead of wandering blindly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.
Clarity is the ultimate Accelerator in life. Taking time to visualize what we DO want (vs the more commonly focused on don'ts) and identifying the gaps is a great beginning. From there think about who can help you bridge the gap - I have found that a more effective strategy than focusing on the "How".
