Many people have had to work harder to maintain their lifestyle. Extra hours and side gigs that were designed to get you ahead may now just keep you afloat. This demand for more results can increase workplace stress to critical levels. This stress can be exacerbated by working from home. The view of people goofing off and doing their chores may be true for some, but for others, work can be more overwhelming than in the office.
Without the defined opening and closing of the workday that a commute brings, work and home time boundaries can get blurred when working from home. Not having the feedback that office contact brings can bring on insecurity about your performance, foster a lack of clarity on goals, and make you feel isolated. These factors can increase an already stressful environment.
Ineffective to-do lists, unnecessarily tight deadlines, and constant demands can leave you questioning whether you can keep up, especially if you have a second job or a side gig. However, by employing the following strategies, you can take control of your workday, which will make you feel empowered and dramatically reduce your stress.
Employing these strategies can not only reduce your stress but provide these benefits.

1 个月Great article on the challenges of the “aftermath” of wfh, versus in office. It’s so important to have a designated office in your home where you can close the door, leave work behind the door and not on your phone in your kitchen! Defining, a clear workday schedule is paramount in developing good time management hygiene in the professional workplace. Having worked from home for the past six years, I fortunately developed these skillsets to divide home from work, and work from home. There were some major learning curves along the way for sure! The lack of human interaction has definitely played a crucial role in identifying your worth, and communication skills. This is where solid leadership/ management plays a pivotal role in keeping Staff engaged, instilling accountability, and giving praise for achievements, where applicable. These are difficult times for many; now that in office is the normal again.
