Finding Beauty in Imperfection

Lets define imperfection; a fault, a blemish, a flaw, a weakness. Yet, when I look at this old truck, all I see is a thing of beauty, a representation of days gone by and stories to be told. Perception is everything. It's so easy to find fault, criticize, be quick to judge instead of looking deeper, past the perceived flaws, and see the strength that lies beneath the exterior surface. This truck has been through so much. If only it could speak. What would it say?

I imagine it would speak of days filled with laughter, sadness, promise, hope, near defeat. Yet, it withstood the storm, sustained mile after mile, and now has the battle scars left behind. Memories, good and bad, unique to the traveler within. I challenge all of us to look through a different lens, take the time to see the beauty within instead of the flaws on the surface.
