Find Your Purpose

In my previous article about "The Davidic Growth Principles" , I mentioned that the first principle is about finding your purpose. Eventually, this exercise of finding your purpose should lead a company to its MTP or massive transformative purpose. The term comes from the book Exponential Organizations by Salim Ismail and it speaks about creating a purpose that is audaciously big and aspirational. Let us watch and listen to Salim Ismail himself talk about what an MTP is about:

Among those who are advocating for successful digital transformation, the idea of an MTP has caught on fast. If you ask why transformative purposes are so popular - the simple answer is that they work. When you have a massive transformative purpose for your business, it can help you create a stronger identity and vision.   3. What opportunities are there to create new markets or to bring new services or products to existing markets??
  4. How can you make your business more sustainable and environmentally friendly?
  5. What is your vision for the future of your company and how can you foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship?

If you can answer these five questions then you are well on your way to creating your company's MTP. To aid you further in your quest for creating an MTP for your business, here are five simple steps you may want to consider.

  1. Research on your industry and find a problem that you can solve.
  2. Determine who your target market is and what they need or want.
  3. Decide on your business' purpose.
  4. Create a vision for your business that aligns with its purpose, and make it real to people inside and outside of your company.?
  5. Celebrate progress along the way - it means your business is working!??

Having a massive transformative purpose for your business is one of the key factors that will help you achieve your goals and dreams. By following the five steps above, you can create a purpose that is unique, relevant, and inspiring to your employees and customers. Make sure to take the time to reflect on your purpose and write it down so that everyone can understand and support it.?
