Find your people.
As you move through growth and change, the landscape of your life shifts. Some relationships grow through it and some are let go, some new ones emerge, and some old ones are given new life. In amongst all of this are periods of loneliness and fear, the kind that pulls you back to old habits, old friendships, and old flames.??
When you are head down and grafting at being the best version of yourself you can be, you don’t always notice the changes in your behaviour happening. Someone dear to me once described growth being like gravity, it will just do its thing and settle on you. New behaviours can’t be, and don’t need to be forced.??
As you grow you simply begin to move through the world differently, and different behaviour attracts different people.??
I’m grateful to be in a place where ‘my people’ are showing up to me. Today I’m reflecting on five conversations I’ve had over the last couple of weeks. One breathed life into an old friendship, and four were with new connections, people who energised me, agitated new thoughts, broadened my perspectives, and taught me something.??
Sharing for anyone who’s in that lonely liminal space, either personally or professionally. Do not give yourself the luxury of old habits, stick with it, keep the faith, and honour the person you’re becoming. From the clients you choose to work with, to the people you choose to work for, keep the bar high. Quality attracts quality.??
