The 'Veli Ndaba NeuroEngineering Leadership Effect' #VNNLE ? Transforming Minds from Mental Darkness to Mental Light
"If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose.” – T.D Jakes
If you really take the time to figure out what your passion is and let it become your purpose, one day it will become your profession. This simply means that finding your passion will lead you to finding work that inspires you and satisfies you. All of us have passion for something, you just need to observe more in your life and take stock of where most of your time goes and what lights you up when you do it. This is what I, Veli Ndaba, help people do.
Leaders today, more than ever before, have to win people’s cooperation. There are two main ways of doing so, motivation and inspiration. Although the two words are often used interchangeably, they actually mean quite different things – depending on what you want to achieve. Motivation is about moving people to act in a particular way that achieves a specific and immediate goal. Motivation is talking to people to do something they may not necessarily want to do and you may have to offer something they want in return (What Is In It For Me) WIIFM as it is popularly known.
Inspiration on the other hand, involves changing the way people think and feel about themselves so that they want to take positive actions. Inspiration has it's roots from the Latin word Inspirare, which in English means in spirit or divine guidance. It taps into people’s values and desires. Inspiration comes with influence. You can hardly inspire people if you cannot influence them. Passion is one major element of being influential. You’ve got to be the message that you bring not the messenger, that is, if you truly want to inspire others. It seems like every second person these days claims to be able to inspire people because they can communicate well and throw around some motivational and inspirational quotes. It goes much deeper than that. Tapping into people’s values and desires takes a special kind of person who is passionate and who is truly an example of the message they bring. You have to be the embodiment of the message you bring not just the messenger. A messenger is someone who is detached from what they are saying, they are saying something they are not and I am sure you have experienced this in your life at some point. People who are so good at what they do are inspired people not just merely motivated. As a leader, you need to know that your positional power will never influence and inspire people to want to be more. So passion and inspiration are blood brothers. When you find your passion, you’ll have found your inspiration and success will have no choice but to follow suit. Let me take you and your team to a whole new level in your lives.
