Find Your Joy in the Now

Would you ever feel joy, sitting in a traffic jam? ??
?
If you’re rolling your eyes, a few months ago, I would have too. But since, I’ve made a small shift in my perspective that’s changed how I see...well, everything.
Even traffic jams.
?
In today’s meditation [to skip to the video, scroll to the end of this article], I share this tiny change with you that’s not only made my life more joyful, but it’s also helped me achieve my goals and get where I want faster.
?
Let me explain.
?
We often live in “I'll be happy when...” mode. We're so focused on our future goals and dreams, that we forget to appreciate where we are right NOW. It almost doesn’t count.
?
The shift I want to share today is a counter-intuitive way to actually fast-track those goals.
?
It involves imagining you’re happy right here, right now, goals achieved or not – instead of waiting for that future moment to be happy.
?
You can find joy, even when you're stuck in a situation you'd rather have avoided (like a traffic jam), because you know you're on your way to something better.
Revolutionary, I know, right?
?
If you’re worried this means you become complacent, lazy, or give up on your goals?altogether, that’s not at all what I’m suggesting.
?
What actually happens when you find the joy wherever you are, when you appreciate your current circumstances, you become more aware of your strengths, resources, and progress.
?
This awareness builds confidence and motivation far more effectively than constantly focusing on what you lack.
?
Plus, there's a beautiful side effect.
When you're grateful for where you are (whether you're just starting out, facing challenges, or nearing your goals), you naturally become kinder to yourself. You stop beating yourself up for not being "there" yet. Every step of your journey gains value and purpose.
?
If you’re ready to try this out with me, let’s practice. The meditation is below.
?
?? And when you’re done, I’d love it if you could share one thing you're appreciating about where you are right now, even if you haven't reached your ultimate goal yet.
?
Who's with me?
?
P.S. If you find this meditation helpful, please share it with someone who might need a dose of present-moment joy today! ??
