No matter what your business is, you need champions. Champions are people who will fight on your behalf, they stand out front and tell the world your story. They do this by referring to business, promoting on social media, telling their friends and business partners about you, and they do this by being an ambassador for your business.
They are the greatest asset in your business. Champions help scale and grow by being a voice and advocate for your company. They tell the world about you because they love your message and how you say things.?
Champions are all around you, it's simply a matter of knowing where to look.
Using the acronym Champions, here is a list of ways to find them.
C - Clients?
H - Heroes?
A - Allies
M - Members?
P - Partners
I - Intentional Content?
O - Outbound
N - Noisemakers
S - Speak

Client's already loved you and the work you do for you. Teach them how to spread your message about your service or product. Schedule a quarterly meeting where you talk about referrals, introduction, and collaborations. Some of your biggest business growth may come from simply bringing a couple of your clients together and making introductions for them. Think about hosting a dinner, happy hour, or a simple lunch. Big things happy when you remember that works run off simple introductions.
Heroes are your biggest fans and cheerleaders and people who already are telling people about you and celebrating you. Teach them how to recruit, introduce, and make connections for you. They want to bring more awareness to your brand so walk them through who you want to make and how to make that referral. They get excited telling people about you and feel comfortable when others feel the same way about you.?
Allies are people on the same growth as you. Some of my greatest champions have been people whose businesses are the same size and growing as fast or faster than mine. They know the struggles and are hungry for more. They will challenge you, push you, and hold you accountable for greatness. That's one of the great things about the Champions Table you find a group of peers going through the same things you are. They want you to succeed so they have a constant running mate that will lush them forward.?
Members of your groups, club, boards, associations, or charities. These are people who see your heart, passion, and love for something more than just business. They share the same compassion and joys you do. Do they know what you do for business? It always amazes me that people don't talk about business and more time doing business than anything else we do. It's a common ground topic. Bring it up and watch people get excited learning more about what you do.?
Partners are your vendors and mentors that make money when you do or are helping you succeed. We have a pretty simple rule in our company. We don't do business with people who won't open doors and make referrals and introductions for us. We only work with our champions. Mentors always want you to win they want to celebrate your success. Make sure they know how to best support and push you to greatness.?
Intentional Content speaks to the community on your social platforms. Social media is a great place to find champions but only if you are content that brings people into your world. Most people use social media to try and sell their crap because they don't understand it's a place to tell stories and find common ground. Share your stories, share your wins, and share your client's stories. Think about social as a place to build a community of people who support each other and want to see each other win.
Outbound - Cold outreach, Direct and private messaging, and purposefully commenting on content that aligns with your business. Schedule time every day to engage with others. Sometimes awareness is all that is needed to find your greatest champions. Some of my biggest fans are in my life because I showed up in a chat, or I commented on one of their posts.?
Noisemakers - Super connectors are people that understand the game of making introductions between people. These people have a mind like Google. They remember what people do and who they need to meet. They know that opening doors for others is one if the fastest ways to grow their business and they do it with passion. They are more than a circle of influence, people are attracted to them. Make them your champion by opening doors making introductions and referrals for them regularly. Help them grow their contact list with people who will champion them.
Speak - Get on Stages, Workshops, and Podcasts. This one I can't emphasize enough. These platforms give you street credibility and instant status. Your champions will show up when you do. Regularly find ways to get out there and be in front of people and teach, share stories, and help others grow. You will be amazed at how much you will grow as a person and how fast your champions will appear.
As a bonus, one of the greatest things I've discovered to attract your champions is to be yourself. In all you do, show up as yourself. I have found that talking like I talk and being who I am has attracted the most amazing champions in my life. I owe every success I have to those people who heard my message and said fuck ya that's my guy.?
Be a champion of others and find your tribe. You like me will likely have to build it. Follow the Champions acronym and you will find that your tribe of champions will show up.
