Find Out Why We’re in the 2021 Top Rated Financial Adviser Guide

We’re in The Times Newspaper. A Reflection on Feedback – and Celebrating Success. Find out Why We’re in the 2021 Top Rated Financial Adviser Guide

Spring has sprung. We’re slowly coming out of what has seemed like endless months of lockdown; life is returning to relative normality in stages. It’s warmer, brighter, lighter and this time, we’re all hoping that, as the song says, “things can only get better”. I hope that you and your family are anticipating better times.

As am I. I have some great news to share, and in a slight diversion from my normal blog topics – if you’ll bear with me – some thoughts to reveal about what, in my opinion, really matters to so many independent financial advisers: feedback and reviews from our customers.

First – here’s a modest amount of own trumpet blowing:

We have a Certificate of Excellence – and we’ve made it into the press.

If you were perusing The Times newspaper on Saturday 10th April, you may have noticed a prominent insert nestled within its pages: the VouchedFor 2021 Top Rated Financial Adviser Guide. We’re delighted to report that with an impressive 4.9 score out of 5.0, and with 33 reviews, Delaunay Wealth Management Ltd has been voted as one of the top-rated advisers in the UK.

Defined by region, we’ve got some impressive independent feedback: 80% of those contacting Delaunay for the first time gave us a first-rate First Impressions score, with 31 further 5-star reviews from existing customers. There was positive feedback on our fees structure, too.

This is gratifying, satisfying and exciting, all at the same time. It motivates and inspires me to keep doing what I’ve been doing and to continue developing my skills. Not to mention cementing my commitment to my clients and to forge great working partnerships, helping people achieve their lifelong goals and objectives.

So, a big Thank You to my customers and associates. I’m looking forward to working with you for many years to come. Why not have a look, here.

(By the way, just to shore up this excellent news, Delaunay won the same award in 2020 for our website portal. We’re fairly chuffed at the moment).

What is VouchedFor?

In case you weren’t sure, VouchedFor is an independent review site for the clients of financial advisers, solicitors and accountants. All feedback and comments are meticulously vetted. Also, they make sure that every adviser is authorised by his or her governing body. They continuously monitor feedback, too.

In brief, it’s a way of introducing new clients to people they can trust, and in whom they can have as high a level of confidence as possible.

Why Do Good Reviews Matter?

To expand on the above, this isn’t just a marketing exercise. Securing a positive first impression with a high-net-worth individual is of course essential. However, great feedback from solicitors and accountants also supports third-party referrals and gives them the assurance to know that their recommendations reflect their decision to refer to us – rather than the competition.

For existing customers? Well, you want to know that your investments are working hard for you, and that the right company is taking care of business. All quite obvious, really.

It’s a Jungle Out There

It’s not really, but you get the picture.

Search Engine Optimisation specialists (those folks who help websites to be ranked by search engines, and thus found by your future clients – primarily Google) tell me that achieving high organic rankings on Google in this area of business (that is, without expensive paid-for AdWords) is really, really difficult.

Why? Because this is an uber-competitive sector. For example, try putting “financial planning consultant” into a search engine to see what I mean.

Our placement in the 2021 Top Rated Financial Adviser Guide enables individuals to know what other people think of us. And how many times do you automatically search out reviews and testimonials when searching for something? Quite often, I would think. Others’ unbiased opinions can count for a great deal.

A Jargon-Free Approach

At the tender age of 21, I joined the Prudential’s battalion of salespeople – there were between 8,000 and 10,000 of us. At the time, I was the youngest financial adviser there. To be fair, 21 is noticeably young. (I even grew a beard to look older.)

The training there was excellent, however.

It was a solid grounding to what is now over 25 years’ experience in wealth management and financial planning. Plus, a springboard to my trademark straightforward approach; if I can break down complicated financial concepts into easy-to-understand “chunks” of information, then explaining them to my clients makes everyone feel more comfortable. Not understanding something makes you feel foolish. I don’t agree with that approach.

And now – my experience enables me to connect equally with the younger and older generation. Just about right, in fact. Good timing, even.

In Summary

I’m professionally and personally delighted to have achieved this accolade. Two reviews in particular sparked particular joy:

“Brilliant explanation of the world of pensions and investments for someone not in the industry”, and

“(Lloyd) explained very patiently and clearly, with no sense of rush”.

Your future is in your hands, and I’m here to help you achieve a financially secure one.
