Find out who you really are to develop into the person you really want to be…

This article is inspired by Matthew McConaughey.

In this Article I'm going to talk about things that I've learned along my journey, most from experiences some of them I've heard in passing, many of them I'm still practising but all, I do think are true.?

Life is not easy. It is not. Don’t try to make it that way. Life is not easy, it never was, it isn’t now and it won't ever be. Don’t fall into the entitlement trap of thinking you are a victim, you are not. Get over it and get on with it.

The question that we have to ask ourselves is what success is to us? What success is to you?

Is it more money? That's fine i’ve got nothing against having more money.

Is it a healthy family?

Maybe it’s a happy marriage, maybe it's to help others, to be spiritually sounded, to leave the world a better place than you found it.?

Continue to ask yourself that question, your answer may change over time and that’s fine. But do yourself this favour, whatever your answer is don’t choose anything that will jeopardise yourself. Prioritise who you are and who you want to be and don’t spend time with anything that antagonises your character.

Be brave take the hill, but first answer that question, whats my hill?

So first we have to define success for ourselves and then we have to put in the work to maintain it. Make that daily tally, tend our garden, keep the things that are important to us in good shape.?

The first step that leads to our identity in life is usually not I know who I am, in fact the first step in life is usually I know who I am not. Process of elimination.?

Defining ourselves by what we are not is the first step that leads us to really knowing who we really are.?

We all have that group of friends that might not bring the best out in you… they gossip to much or they’re kind of shady. They really aren't gonna be there for you in a pinch, or what about that bar we keep going to, that gives you the worst hangover, or the computer screen, the computer screen that keeps giving us an excuse to not go out of the house and engage with the world, people and get that real human interaction. Or what about the food we keep eating the stuff that taste so good, but makes us feel crap the next day or week. We feel tired and keep putting on weight.?

Those people, those places those things. Stop giving them your time and energy, just don't go there, put them down and when you do this, when you put them down and quit going there. When you quit giving them your time, you find yourself spending more time and in more places that are healthy for you, that makes you happy and brings you more joy. That’s because you’ve just eliminated the who’s, the where, the when’s and what’s that where keeping you from your identity.?

So get rid of the excess, the wasted time, decrease your options and innocently you would of put in front of you what is important by process of elimination.?

Instead of creating outcomes that take from us, lets create outcomes that pay us back, fill us up, give us joy, keep your fire lit for the most amount of time in your future.?

Go chase your dreams and pursue your passions.?

You have one life so live it!
