The Recovering Hope Project is bringing HOPE to the hopeless at the “Casa del Buen Trato” shelter in Huánuco, Peru. Here are your need-to-knows:
- Casa del Buen Trato is a temporary shelter for children and adolescents who are victims of sexual abuse, as well as women who are victims of domestic violence.
- Casa del Buen Trato is the only shelter of its kind in all of Peru, therefore, only takes the severest of cases.
- Despite the fact that there are roughly 60,000 sexual abuse cases each year in Peru, the shelter can only accept up to 50 cases at a time- sometimes less due to the amount of accompanying babies that resulted from the abuse.
- The shelter is unique because it not only provides a safe haven from their abusers, but also holistic care; including legal services, psychological therapy, emotional support, health care, social work services, pastoral care, education and life skills training.
- The annual budget for the shelter (including meals, salaries for staff, maintenance, etc.) is surprisingly low compared to U.S. standards. Your donation CAN AND WILL make a difference.

HopeLKN is a non-profit located in the Lake Norman area of North Carolina and is bringing HOPE to that community by raising awareness and funds for other local charities and non-profits who are already making a difference. Here are your need-to-knows:
- The current Strategic Partners that benefit from HopeLKN events and fundraising efforts are The Ada Jenkins Center (Davidson, NC), The Hope House Foundation (Huntersville, NC), and Barium Springs Children Hope Alliance (Statesville, NC).
- Bags of Hope, a program of HopeLKN, brings hope to the Lake Norman community by providing weekend food provisions to school children who experience food insecurity.
- HopeLKN is currently looking for businesses, corporations, and individuals to partner financially on local events to raise more awareness and multiply donation dollars for their Strategic Partners. "Hope for the Holidays", a previous HopeLKN event leveraged $15,000 and a few business partnerships and raised over $103,000 that was evenly distributed among the participating non-profits.
- HopeLKN is in the process of launching local businesses under the HopeLKN banner to help offset basic operational and administrative costs in order to allow a greater focus and frequency of community events.

- SOTG is currently looking for ways to have a greater impact on a national and international level through curriculum, seminars, and other resources for families and coaches.
- SOTG puts a strong emphasis on the quality of their coaches by providing training (both sport and relational/spiritual) to help ensure that they are equipped to lead their kids in issues on and off the field.
