Find job opportunities with companies that share your values on LinkedIn

As the world of work continues to transform, so are people’s expectations when it comes to prioritizing what’s most important in their careers. Values are a key factor for professionals looking to make a career move today — whether that’s a new job, pivoting into a new industry or considering a role within their organization. Almost 90% of people in the U.S. say working for a company committed to the values they believe in is important and 71% say this is true even in an uncertain economy.*??

Not surprisingly, organizations that emphasize their values are better suited to attract interested candidates and also motivate their employees, especially when it comes to younger generations inspired by purpose-driven work: 85% of Gen Z professionals in the U.S. who work for a company with shared values say they frequently go above and beyond in their job. And on LinkedIn, we’ve seen a more than 154% increase in entry-level jobs globally including values-related terms from 2020-2022.?

That’s why today, we’re excited to introduce new tools to help job seekers match with opportunities based on what they value in their careers, and the Top Companies that are hiring and offering growth opportunities.?

Find roles at companies committed to values with a new job search filter

We’re rolling out a new job search filter so you can easily search for open roles based on an organization’s commitment to values such as work-life balance, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), career growth and learning, social impact and environmental sustainability. To begin, simply go to the LinkedIn Jobs tab to start a job search, then click on ‘All filters’ where you’ll see a dedicated ‘Commitments’ section and select specific values types to narrow down your search.??

Hirers can add and demonstrate proof of their commitments on their LinkedIn Page, which will surface in their job postings and automatically show up in your search results. Tens of thousands of companies globally have already added their commitments and we’re just getting started.

You can also learn about a company’s commitments on their LinkedIn Page and signal your interest in working there when you see an ‘I’m interested’ button in the ‘About’ tab. This will spotlight your LinkedIn Profile with hirers using LinkedIn’s Recruiter tool, helping you further stand out.

We’ve been inspired by the many stories from people navigating their careers using values as their compass to match with the right job, like Anna Tomka who used LinkedIn to find a job that better aligned with her values and passion for sustainability and Morgan Young who told us, “I’ve made a ‘deal’ with myself that wherever I work, it has to be a place where I can be authentically myself. I seek out workplaces that not only accept me for who I am, but embrace my differences as what’s valuable.”?

Finding a company that truly shares your values will take time and research so you definitely want to be patient, persistent, and proactive in your job search, but one of the best recommendations I can give anyone is don't be afraid to ask tough questions during the interview process and ask questions that are important to you so that you can ensure that the company and people are aligned with your own.
