Find a Brand Voice Your Audience Will Recognize

When you know a person, you recognize the phrases they speak, the details they focus on, or the amount of humor in their everyday chatter. In the same way, a brand's voice is the personality it builds for its audience.

Developing a distinct voice makes the brand recognizable, relatable, and memorable. Furthermore, it makes the storytelling part of their marketing much more impactful. As a brand, if you are having trouble finding your brand's voice, this post is about to resolve that! So, let's begin, shall we?

Use Your Mission or Vision Statement

A company's mission or vision statements are the values it focuses on in every one of its proceedings. Knowing your values can help you decide the causes you must speak up for and the issues you must emphasize.?

For instance, a brand with eco-friendliness and sustainability in its mission statement must talk about the deteriorating environment from time to time. They should release content on Earth Day and address sustainability problems that their industry is solving.?

Identify Your Target Audience

We, as humans, adopt different tones and select different ways of sharing information depending upon who we are addressing. With their target audience identified, brands can speak to them in their specific vocabulary. Take teenagers, for example. If you have a clothing line for them, your brand may have an outgoing and breezy personality. And you may be including a lot of generational slang in your social media posts and statements.

Develop a Circumstantial Tone

A tone is a way of approaching different subject matters. Keeping your brand personality in mind, you must select a proper tone for different circumstances. An easy way to do this is by noting down frequently occurring scenarios and creating a guideline on the tones your brand should adopt.

For instance, if your brand is known for its inspirational voice, you can answer negative reviews with a positive outlook instead of directly apologizing.

Visual content is, no doubt, an important piece of a brand's personality. But such content has no meaning without a strong and distinguishable voice to support it. Do a little homework to understand your brand and find a voice that your audience will love!
