Community Voices: What financial challenges have you faced?

"Having to decide between eating healthily and buying what is cheap to eat because you can't afford to do both. Having to decide between putting fuel in the car or getting essential physio massage because you can't afford to do both. Going without because you can't work and have no way of living on the benefits that you get for being disabled."
"Medication and treatment with the NHS been so under we had to find treatment somewhere else at cost and the same with Medication"
"I’ve worked out my mortgage is 95% of my ill health Teaching pension ... but I’m ineligible for any additional benefits because my husband and I just scrape over the wage boundary. This means I can no longer fund those necessities like yoga and swimming which keep me ‘well’. Until this is resolved my mental health continues to decline and yet the Prime Minister has deemed we the disabled should be working. I literally have no money day to day so no social life. I am trapped at home unable to leave through anxiety and financial difficulty. I’ve become beholden to my husband and my friends - I hate it."
"Travel and whether it’s accessible... If you haven’t got the funds to get to the clinic or meeting friends you don’t feel part of society"
