INVESTOR AWARNESS PROGRAM

Seminar Hall/CSIT Block, in an effort to promote financial literacy, Finance and Investment Cell, GEU in collaboration with SV Wealth Partners and the Government of India organized an Investor Awareness Program on 12thSeptember, 2019 from 11 a.m. onwards. The goal was to help people handle their money more skillfully which led to students learning how to make wise choices when investing their money thanks to this lesson. Students were taught the value of money in this program and how to make by investing in different marketable securities.

FINOMINA

Seminar Hall/CSIT Block, Finomina was a mock stock competition whose purpose was to offer students real-world trading exposure, wherein the winners of the event received prizes totaling Rs. 1500.

Held on 25th January, 2020 from 10 a.m. onwards, this event consisted of two sessions and evaluated the students’ market knowledge. The Students were instructed to invest in a specific business based on short-term news. This competition included 2 rounds and tested the students’ knowledge regarding the market.

SIMILITUDE

This activity was inspired by “ATMA NIRBHAR BHARAT ABHIYAAN” where students were required to evaluate two businesses, one of which had to be an Indian business, and the other a non-Indian business, ought to be in the same sector.

The criteria were that there should be at least 5 points and to mention the basis of the difference.

This event was conducted during lockdown times on 20th August, 2020 through virtual mode and offered rewards up to Rs. 1500 to the winner.

DECRYPTONITE

Decryptonite was an online exam event where enrollment was free and the primary goal was to increase public awareness of cryptocurrencies. This quiz was held from 10th-15th December, 2021, and anyone, including students, could participate in this event. In reaction to the positive feedback from this event, FIC organized decryptonite 2.0.

BASIS OF STOCK EXCHANGE

The head of the club at the moment, Ms. Aishwarya Aswal, was the webinar's main speaker, and it was only organized for fic members.

The primary goal of this webcast was to inform the participants about the fundamentals of the stock market, as well as solid information about the NSE, BSE, Nifty, and Sensex, portfolio diversification, demat accounts, and a Q&A session and was held on 17th January, 2021.

POST BUDGET ANALYSIS, 2021

Seminar Hall/CSIT Block, The GEU Finance and Investment Cell and the Department of Commerce collaborated to present IMPATOMY (episode 1) on Post Budget Analysis 2021 on 1st February, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. onwards.

This program was planned to provide students with some basic knowledge about the budget for 2021–2022 and gave insights into the state of Indian Economy.

CAREER IN FINANCE

Conducted via Microsoft Teams on 25th February, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. onwards FIC conducted a live webinar “Career in Finance” for the pupils who wanted to pursue a profession in Finance but were unaware of where to begin.

The students learnt about different classes and certifications in this webinar including career in Banking, exams preparation advices, qualifications needed for a finance related job, students doubts were discussed.

The guest speaker for the event was Mr. Ishaan Arora , Co-Founder FRM | Msc(Fin.) | CFA | NSE/SEBI regar TEDx, who has instructed more than 20,000 pupils and was nominated for honours such as UN Young Leader Fellowship and Indian Achiever Awards.

DECRYPTONITE 2.0

Held on 9th and 10thDecember 2022, Decryptonite 2.0 was an annual intra-university business and finance quiz inspired by the positive students’ feedback from Decryptonite held for the first time on December, 2021 and was presented by Finance and Investment Cell, GEU.

Decryptonite 2.0 was a round-wise quiz competition with three rounds on topics like business affairs and stock market. Exciting rewards worth more than Rs. 25,000, including cash prizes of Rs. 10,000 were granted to the winners.

POST BUDGET ANALYSIS, 2023

Seminar Hall/CSIT Block, Finance and Investment Cell, at GEU, hosted a post budget analysis session for all finance enthusiasts, on 7thFebruary, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. onwards.

The Union Budget 2023, its general efficacy, and its effects on various sectors and areas are all covered in-depth in the post-budget analysis conducted by FICGEU.

The gathering was inactive, but a Microsoft Teams link has been provided for those who are not in Dehradun.
