Financial Director - Large Construction/Engineering Company in Midrand

Salary - R1.3 - R1.8 Million - Gross - Depending on the Candidate

About this Job

As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Group Chief Financial Officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the Group, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve the Groups assets and report accurate financial results. Responsible for supporting the Board of Directors in all aspects of financial management. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning deal analysis and negotiations. ?

This position reports the CEO.

This position is based at Head Office in Midrand.

Qualifications and Experience

·???????Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)

·???????Professional accounting designation (CA, CIMA, or CPA)

·???????Minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience as a Financial Director or CFO position

·???????Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office

·???????Experience in construction/built environment sector will be an advantage.

Strategy Management

·???????Provides leadership in the development for the continues evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives by executing the financial strategy of the Group.

·???????Assist in formulating the Groups future direction and support tactical initiatives.

·???????Monitor, direct and implement financial models to support the strategic business plans.

·???????Provide advise on how to increase revenue and reduce costs.

·???????Develop financial and tax strategies.

·???????Manage the capital request and budgeting processes.

·???????Develop performance measures that support the Groups strategic direction.

·???????Develop and implement revenue collection strategies.

·???????Develop manage, and lead acquisitions strategies.

Operations Management

·???????Participate in key decisions as a member of the Executive Management Team

·???????Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the Management team.

·???????Oversee and manage the financial operations of business units.

·???????Implement operational best practices.

·???????Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefit package.

·???????Assist with acquisition, due diligence and participate in price negotiations.

·???????Provide input into Pricing strategy.

·???????Support the CEO with preparation of all financial reports and plans.

·???????Maintain good relationships with financial institutions.

·???????Participate as an Executive Member - Board of Directors

Financial Management

·???????Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the Group.

·???????Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Group.

·???????Enhance credibility of the Group Finance by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.

·???????Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.

·???????Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

·????????Monitor and report on the profitability (past and projected) of the various business units as well as the Group.

·???????Report financial results to the Board of Directors

·???????Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.

·???????Arrange for debt and equity financing.

·???????Implementation and monitoring of the procurement policy.

·???????Develop and implement systems for debtors’ management.?

·???????Accountable to the board in all aspects of financial reporting.

Risk Management

·???????Understand and mitigate key elements of the Groups risk profile.

·???????Development and monitor reliable control systems.

·???????Maintain appropriate insurance coverage for the Group.

·???????Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and regulatory requirements.

·???????Report risk issues to the Executive Management team and the board of Directors

·???????Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
