Financial Controller - Birmingham

Role: Financial Controller

As the Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in partnering with the senior management team, providing added value through financial analysis and commercial support. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, drive financial strategies, and contribute to decision-making processes.

In addition to overseeing financial operations, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the forecasting cycle. This includes providing accurate and insightful financial forecasts, analysis variances, and identifying areas for improvement. You will also provide financial support on capital investment proposals, projects, and new business opportunities, ensuring sound financial decision-making.

The Financial Controller will be an advocate for driving a culture of continuous improvement within the team. You will actively seek opportunities to streamline processes, enhance financial systems, and?optimise?efficiency. Your leadership and guidance will empower your team to deliver high-quality financial services and contribute to the overall success of the?organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure effective financial management.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning, identify areas for improvement, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborate with department heads and senior management to develop and monitor?KPIs?and financial metrics.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage the relationship with external auditors.
• Oversee the payroll function and ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A professional accounting?qualification -??(ACCA,?CIMA,?ICAEW).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial principles, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent?analytical?and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
