On November 14, 2024, the ADGM’s FSRA hosted its annual outreach session on AML, CFT, and TFS. The session was?tailored specifically for ADGM’s Relevant Persons (FIs, VASPs, DNFBPs), featured expert insights from the NAMLCFTC, the UAEFIU, and the EOCN.
Key topics included AML/CFT obligations, outcome of our analysis of the annual AML Return submission for 2023, the UAE's National Strategy 2024-2027, insights into Trade-Based Money Laundering (TBML), updates on the goAML reporting system, the National Risk Assessment (NRA) and TFS obligations.
Additionally, the discussion touched on the risks and transparency of legal entities along with other emerging challenges in financial compliance. We extend our deepest gratitude to the esteemed speakers and all attendees for their invaluable contributions. Their insights and active participation significantly enriched the discussion, fostering enhanced collaboration and strengthening compliance practices within the financial community.

This innovative project will enable investors to buy and sell gold investment coins online?anytime, from anywhere across the globe.

Key Features: - The value of the digital coin?will be determined by the weight of gold, the price set by the London Bullion Market Association (#LBMA), and the exchange rate of #USD to #Tenge, as determined by the National Bank. - Purchasing platform: Available via the #"TABYS"?mobile app by the Astana International Exchange - AIX. - The coin will also allow investors to buy, sell, and even gift?coins. Accumulated digital coins can be exchanged for a physical gold investment coin?at National Bank branches.
Exclusive Design: The new coin, #úKI, will be minted in 999.9 gold, with a weight of 31.1 grams and a nominal value of 100 Tenge.
This marks a significant milestone in Kazakhstan's efforts to integrate digital assets into the financial ecosystem, offering a new way to invest in gold while embracing the digital future.

Casablanca Finance City and Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority Sign Memorandum of Understanding at the Qatar Africa Business Forum (QABF) 2024.
On November 16th, 2024, at the Qatar Africa Business Forum (QABF) 2024, Said Ibrahimi, CEO of Casablanca Finance City (CFC), and Yousuf Al-Jaida, CEO of Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing collaboration between their financial hubs.
This agreement sets the stage for joint initiatives in Fintech, sports, and private banking, emphasizing knowledge exchange, regulatory insights, and professional training programs to promote sustainable growth.
Through this partnership, CFC and QFC seek to attract financial institutions and multinational corporations to their regions, encouraging a dynamic exchange of expertise and innovation.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) received the former Chairperson of the International Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) Board of Directors and current Board Member, Ms. Sally Anna, on the sidelines of her visit to the country to participate in the Internal Auditors Summit, which will be held from 17-18 November.
?? The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Maamari, Deputy CEO of FANR, during which he discussed areas of cooperation between FANR and the Institute to develop the internal audit and quality control profession in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as reviewing FANR's directions to promote the internal audit profession in general at the local level.

We had a series of engaging discussions.
1. Opening Remarks by David Day David Day from LSEG kicked off the event, emphasizing the importance of recognizing the roles and strengths of Singapore and Japan as financial hubs. He also highlighted the goals for the event.
2. Keynote by Kazuhiko Yoshimatsu Kazuhiko Yoshimatsu from Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) discussed the ongoing efforts to boost corporate valuations in Japan. His talk focused on reforms such as "corporate governance" and "bilingual disclosure requirements," and their impact on the Japanese market.
3. Panel Discussion 1: “How Family Offices can nurture asset management ecosystem in Japan” Patrick Donaldson (LSEG), Akemi. Kito (PwC), Junji Kevin Takaoka (U Tokyo IPC) This session explored the growth of family offices in Singapore and their potential impact on Japan's asset management ecosystem. Key topics included why family offices choose Singapore, the challenges of entering the Japanese market, and whether now is the right time for family offices to invest in Japan.
4. Panel Discussion 2: “How asset owners and managers can capitalize on the opportunities in Japan” ?Yoshi Kiguchi (Pension Fund of Japanese Corporations), Jason L. (GIC), Joanne Goh (DBS), Keiichi Aritomo (FinCity.Tokyo) A key point was that two-thirds of listed companies in Japan are microcap firms. The discussion focused on strategies for sustaining growth in these companies post-listing and how Japan can attract more investments in the current geopolitical climate.
5. Networking Session After the sessions, Hideo Tomita (LSEG) delivered a speech to kick off the networking, where speakers and participants exchanged valuable insights and ideas for future collaboration.

It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Friedrich von Metzler, a formative figure in the banking world and a visionary for Frankfurt. As co-founder of Frankfurt Main Finance and pioneer of the Frankfurt Financial Summit, he provided significant impetus for the financial center and far beyond. His commitment to cultural, social, and scientific projects has set an example.
Friedrich von Metzler remains in our familiar memory as a role model.
