Finances, Fall & Fakes
Fall is here. It’s Wednesday. Let me explain. I know I’m late. Shut up about it.
This past weekend was Labor Day. So Monday was a vacation day. Hence, no newsletter writing allowed. I don’t make the rules.
Mugsy (greatest company in the world) ALSO takes the Tuesday off, making it an extra long weekend for your boy.
I, actually, (not to brag) worked yesterday. I know all of you worked yesterday too, but I wasn’t supposed to work. And when you work when you’re not supposed to work, you get to gloat. Obviously.
So anyways, now that I’m playing with house money for working when I wasn’t supposed to, I’m gonna get double meat & guac on my burrito I am walking to get.
Check this out: Here’s a pic from the photoshoot I directed yesterday (the day I wasn’t supposed to work, remember that? So heroic of me).
If a PSL (pumpkin spice latte) was a picture of pants…
The end of summer. September. Damn. Bittersweet. It sorta feels like a new chapter. A fresh start. Which is nice, because I feel BROKE. Why do we spend all of our money during the summer?
Labor Day is funny too. Even tho it’s a day off from working, every single labor day I feel exhausted & broke.
It’s always the same story. You take a weekend trip. You’re convinced you have to go. “It’s the last weekend of summer. We gotta do it!”, your friends will say.
You spend money you really don’t want to spend (or even have). You buy drinks, lobster rolls, new cars. “They were having a Labor Day Sale!”
The last hoorah of summer. It’s time to put away the flip flops, take out the Chelsea boots, & start layering.

Anyways, this is a long winded way of saying sorry for getting this out on a Wednesday. I’m still motivated. Still hungry as hell. I love writing. I love talking to you all every single week. I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE.
Welcome to week 46 of Trust Fun. Almost at 1 year. NUTS.
Nearly a year in, I am super proud of what Trust Fun is at this point. Is this the biggest newsletter in the world? No, not even close. Is this my full time job? Nope. It’s not.
It’s a passion. A side hustle. AN ALTERNATE STREAM OF INCOME. Pretty cool.
It’s something I committed myself to doing every week. No matter what. And people, whether they know it or not, are taking notice. Check out some other newsletters that have come out of the ecommerce world recently:
Notice anything about the titles?
Now, maybe I’m being vain, but I think Trust Fun 100% inspired these titles (& maybe even these newsletters). Alliteration is sexy and fun, and folks in the industry are reading my newsletter. It’s so cool. I love it. Keep the titles coming.
…With that being said, if u do rip a copycat title (which is chill of course), the least you could do is buy a hat… TrustFun.com????
Not a ton to report this week. I’m exhausted. I kept missing my trains last night from Boston back to NYC. Was supposed to be on the 5pm, missed that. Then the 6, missed that. Then the 645, my uber cancelled, missed that. Then finally made the 8pm slow train. Got back to my apartment at like 2am. BRUTAL.
Most people would’ve slept in, took it easy the day after working on a holiday. Not me. Well, I did sleep in. BUT, I’m back in the office. I signed up for a Barry’s Bootcamp class tonight.
Get a sweat in. Happy hump day. Thanks for reading.
