Finance Ministry Defends Schedule 3 Of Fy24/25 Supplementary Budget
The State Minister of Finance, in charge of general dutiesHenry Musasizi has requested the budget committee to recommend for approval to parliament, the supplementary budget schedule 3 totaling to over 4tn shillings.
The supplementary budget is to cater for the construction of Lubowa Hospital, borrowing to fund the UMEME buyout and classified expenditure for State House among others.
Appearing before the parliamentary budget committee today, the state Minister of Finance (General Duties) Henry Musasizi made a request to the committee to lobby parliament to approve the over 4Tn shillings of the supplementary expenditure in schedule 3 that was tabled before parliament for FY24/25.
However, committee members expressed frustration over the continued dependence on supplementary budget.
Responding to the concerns, Minister Musasizi acknowledged, saying that the root cause of the actions is due to the inadequate budget funding.
Among other requests is a suplementary amounting to Shs298Bn for the construction of Lubowa Hospital, borrowing of over Shs3Tn to fund the buyout of UMEME, and classified expenditure for State House among others.
