Finance Career Spotlight: Simon Glover

We caught up with?NOW's brilliant Finance Analyst,? Simon Glover . He revealed his highlights so far, the best thing about his role and what he's most excited about coming up at NOW ??

1.????Can you tell us more about your role at NOW???

I've worked in lots of interesting roles at NOW, like Marketing and Operations, but right now I sit in the ?Commercial Finance team, which looks at decision-making across the business. It's a team that works across so many areas, which makes every day different and exciting. Plus, I've been empowered to change my role a bit - I'm starting to work more with Strategy and Propositions, making every financial decision more efficient.

2.????What’s your career highlight so far??

A slightly boring answer incoming… I have worked in various teams across the Sky group, where I have had many highlights, but I would have to say my career highlight so far is when I finished my final accountancy exam and no longer had to give up my evenings and weekends to studying which meant I could really focus on travelling more, binge watching and catching up on socialising (partying).???

3.????What's the best thing about your role???

The variety of work. My workload is super varied, so I work with many different people/teams on a weekly basis both within NOW & Sky and external stakeholders. There are always new challenges to be had and that keeps things super interesting.??

4.????What do you love about the Sky Campus??

The diversity events like the pride party we had earlier in the year and another favourite of mine is the breakfast.??

5.????Who inspires you???

I work with so many inspiring people, but I am particularly inspired by those who go above and beyond their day jobs to push diversity and inclusion throughout NOW and Sky. It really makes a difference to the atmosphere at work, and the events are always great, so thank you!??

6.??What are you most excited about coming up at NOW???

I am particularly excited about this Christmas period, especially our NOW Christmas Party. But I also love it when they put all the decorations up around the campus it makes it feel super festive. I am also excited to fully move into my new role where I will be working with the Strategy and Props teams more closely.??

7.????What’s your favourite Show, Movie or Sport on NOW??

I would have to say Game of Thrones. I was never really a fan of the fantasy genre until I watched this, now I have watched the whole thing twice.
