Finally....I am a Sk?lleague !

Last night I had the privilege and the honor of being inducted into the DC Chapter of Sk?l. It is an organization that I have long admired and offers its members ( travel and hospitality professionals ) an amazing network of support. I have been welcomed  into this organization with open arms and have been shown great hospitality. It was an incredible evening and was graciously hosted  by Chris Thompson, President and CEO of Brand USA and Roger Dow, President and CEO of the US Travel Association. The picture above is me with the iconic hotelier James Enright, CHME who is  president of the Sk?l International Washington D.C. chapter (in addition to being one of the nicest guys you will ever meet!).

Sk?l is a professional organization of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism .....and friendship. It is the only international group uniting all branches of the travel and tourism industry. Its members, the industry's managers and executives, meet at local, national, regional and international levels to discuss and pursue topics of common interest. 

The first Club was founded in 1932 in Paris by travel managers, following an educational tour of Scandinavia. The idea of international goodwill and friendship grew and, in 1934, the “Association Internationale des Sk?l Clubs” was formed with Florimond Volckaert as its first President, who is considered the “Father of Sk?l”.

Sk?l International today has approximately 17,000 members in 400 Clubs throughout 80 nations.
