Finally made it on the cover!

Finally made it on the cover!

Those that know me well know that my real passion is writing... and not the software code kind. I have ghostwritten a handful of manuscripts for others, but I am happy to say, I finally made the cover of one that I am truly excited about.

Writing "Baseball Junkie" was different. Aubrey, a two-time World Series Champion with the San Francisco Giants is not only one of the nicest guys you will ever meet (he literally does not have an ego), but he provided me with so much incredible material to work with, it was actually hard to figure out what to cut out.

Aubrey's story reads like a fairy tale. I will try not to spoil the book for those that plan to read it, but it follows him from a kid growing up fatherless in a trailer park in Texas, all the way to the pinnacle of America's favorite pastime, winning the 2010 World Series with the Giants, something they had not done since 1954. He was a leader on that team, and played a pivotal role in bringing that trophy home to San Francisco for the first time ever, cementing his name among a list of Bay Area legends.

There is a lot of heartbreak and degeneracy between those two points, and the book takes you along for the ride.

So how does a guy that has everything, find himself in his bedroom closet one day, weeping, a loaded .357 Magnum pressed against his temple? That was the heart of the story for me, and one I worked on for six months with Aubrey to uncover. The raw emotion expressed on the pages is still hard for me to read today, but it was necessary to give hope to others out there struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, thoughts of inferiority and even perhaps contemplating suicide.

I would love to see what you guys think of the book. Often, you lock yourself away for months, without any real idea on how your work may be received.

I would love it if you went over to kickstarter to check out our campaign to get the book in fans' hands in time for the holidays (2016).
