Finally, I am LinkedIn's Top Voice!

A few days ago I woke to find that Linkedin has awarded me the “Top Personal Branding Voice” badge on my profile, recognizing my contributions for that topic.

But that is another milestone in my journey with Linkedin that started more than fifteen years ago!

What I learned from my LinkedIn journey

IN 2008:

I created my LinkedIn account in Rome, Italy

I was promoted to be the business development manager for an Egyptian software company to be their manager, business development manager in Italy.

Lesson Learned:

Whenever I met someone new in a professional context, I added him'/her to my Linkedin network.

IN 2009:

I visited and met the founders of a small Italian company. One year later, they posted a vacancy, looking for a country manager for their branch in Cairo. I met one of the founders, who decided to get me on board as a shareholder in the new company.

Lesson Learned:

LinkedIn changed my career from an employee to an entrepreneur & co-founder

FROM 2009 TILL 2019:

My personal brand on Linkedin helped me to scale the business of that Egyptian-Italian company beyond the Egyptian market to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tunisia, Algeria, and many more.

Lesson Learned:

Building a strong network over LinkedIn opens unmatched opportunities.

FROM 2013 TILL TODAY

Linkedin helped me to get conference talks, speaking gigs, media interviews, side training/consultancy projects inside and outside Egypt.

Lesson Learned:

Investing time and effort in creating useful content over Linkedin consistently is the best investment we can do for our careers & businesses, it has the highest ROI!

FROM 2020 TILL TODAY

• I decided to focus 100% on content creation on Linkedin.
• Sharing what I learned about LinkedIn, personal branding, and business growth.
• I jumped into LinkedIn and started spending less time in the corporate world.
• I am an adjunct faculty at the American University in Cairo.
• Always glad to see the progress of my students’ personal brands on Linkedin.
• I am launching a new educational platform empowering founders.
• This platform is a startup between Egypt & Oman.

What I highly advise you to do today
