Finally! Back To Business.
It’s like a bunch of switches have just been flipped.
It’s Fall. All the Summer vacations and travels, if any, are done.
Schools are back in session. Many kids are back in class, more or less, here or there. Ha!
Halloween is over and we can look forward to the big Holiday Season – with all the family gatherings that are allowed.
Air conditioners are off and we have switched to heat.
And, Oh Yes, the election is over and we can start to pay attention again.
As a housecleaner, all of that tells me it is time to get back to business.
Summer is a time when most folks create bigger messes than other times of year. Not just traveling, but living outdoors more and tracking more of the outdoors in. Pets running in and out. Kids playing and dumping their stuff everywhere.
Open windows allow dust and pollen and stuff to invade and deposit themselves on surfaces high and low – floors, windowsills, ceiling fans, cabinet tops, on top and behind the fridge.
It’s time for extra cleaning, catch up cleaning. Especially upstuff cleaning. Cleaning to prepare for the house to be closed up until Spring.
The virus scare also is an opportunity to offer deep cleaning of the kitchen and bathrooms especially. The laundry room and pantry rarely get the attention they deserve – floors, shelves, space behind appliances and provisions. (Good time to check expiration dates on those canned peaches and stuff!)
As a housecleaner, this is a great time to schedule even more frequent cleanings. Not only is the virus one good reason, it is always a good thing to keep on top of cyclical cleanings so that floors and bathrooms and kitchens never get out of control.
Now is a good time to schedule pre-holiday and post-holiday cleaning, especially of bathrooms, floors and the kitchen. Parties need to be prepared for and cleaned up after.
Finally, if your cleaning client is happy with your service, ask for referrals. Not just nice words on your web page, but actual referrals to their friends and neighbors.
Back to business!
