Finally 2038 arrived
In 2019 I got to know the team that won the prestigious pitch to develop the german pavilion at the Architecture Bienale in Venice in 2020. Of course the whole event was postponed due to Corona but now it is finally public (mostly as a virtual space) @ www.2038.xyz
The team had a pretty compelling idea: given that Germany had a horrible entre at the Architecture Bienale in 1938 (nazi architecture & ideology) they proposed to spin a science fiction documentary from a hundred years later, in which we (humanity) made it and achieved a pretty positive global state when it comes to sustainability, equality, and self-determination.
I was involved in advising the team on Internet Governance and AI in particular and I think the concept of a positive future not last thanks to us governing the Web in a decentralised and open way and our selfs being augmented by personal AI‘s - is credibly developed in the 2038 scenario/narrative.
It turned out as more than 4h of video! Overall it is an edgy, intellectual, artsy science-fiction documentary - and it is post-capitalist with the twist that Google and some others learned to incorporate democratic practices and triple bottom line thinking. They also make a pretty strong claim the (land) property is a pretty bad idea (and hence it was overcome in the late 2020ies).
Enjoy and let me know what you think? https://2038.xyz/01
