Final OSHA Rules for Fixed Ladder Compliance
What is considered a fixed ladder?
As defined by Occupational Safety and Health Administration , a fixed ladder is attached permanently to a structure, building, or equipment using rails or rungs. What is the final rule for fixed ladder compliance?
In the final rule, ladder safety systems and personal fall protection systems are required on ladders over 24 feet. To better distribute fall arrest forces across the user's body, the rule prohibits the use of body belts, instead requiring body harnesses. Read full document.
