Final Crucible Masterclass of the cohort sees a website launched after the two-day session
The final two-part Crucible Masterclass took place last week in the Innovation Centre, led by Sharon and Jade Keevins from Kangaroouk.
Focusing on website design, Sharon and Jade introduced the Duda customer management system, talking candidates through each section, and how they can be used to tweak the perfect website.
Offering a hands-on and interactive session, each delegate was able to choose a web template that offered their business a great digital shop front. Once set up, they were free to explore the system and build their very own website in the supportive environment offered by the team.
Additional assistance was offered in areas including logos, branding and website terms and conditions, ensuring each new website offered a strong presence for the start-up.
To add a bit of spice to the session, the first delegate to complete and launch their website on day two won champaign and free hosting for a year! Congratulations to Keisha Brittle who was the winner!

Taleb Cherif, who is on a placement at Jay Wing and commuted from Sheffield each day, commented:
“This session has answered a lot of questions I had about web design, in areas including security, hosting, and maintaining a website. In what can be a confusing subject, it has been really helpful for me, enabling me to set up my freelance business to be more professional.”
Keisha, whose now-live website is available here , commented:
“I’ve had a great couple of days, learning all about how to create my website. I had no idea what I was doing two days ago, but now I have a live website! It’s such a great step for me and my business – it’s still sinking in that I won!”
Crucible will return later in the year, and with it the opportunity to attend any masterclasses you may have missed this time. More information will be shared on the Crucible page soon, or you can keep up-to-date with the latest information by signing up to our newsletter here .
