Final call for the Fellowship!

You only have until?5PM UTC on?Wednesday 22 March 2023?to apply for the annual One World Media Fellowship.

Make the most of the next few hours?to send us?project ideas that you want to bring to life?in?print, photography, film, audio or?multimedia.

We are looking for stories that highlight voices?in the global south, particularly those that are not often heard. We seek original stories, told in engaging ways. We encourage positive, empowering, and solutions oriented pieces that are respectful of?the context they're reported in, while working closely with local communities.

See some examples?like? Simona Rata ’s podcast,?Europe’s Most Dangerous Capital,?on?BBC Radio 4,? Arwa Aburawa ’s multimedia piece,?The Grandmother Lake, on?Al Jazeera Interactive?and? Hermine Virabian ’s photojournalism,?Education in the shadow of early marriage, in?Open Caucasus Media.

The Fellowship offers training, mentorship and funding to early to mid-career journalists and filmmakers to tell underreported stories?from the global south.?The year-long programme also supports these stories to appear in international media outlets. In 2023, 10?spots are available to be part of a peer group?of talented storytellers and join a growing?alumni network?around the world.

If you need some help or inspiration,?look at our tips on?submitting an application.?
