Filling the Flip Flops

Since the news came out about me moving on from muru-D earlier in the week, I’ve been inundated with messages of support (thank you!) and also a lot of questions - most of them focused around the theme of what next for muru-D – so I thought I’d tackle that in this post to make sure everyone gets the message that muru-D is here for the long haul, it’s strong and growing fast.

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I care very deeply about making a difference and I wouldn’t have entertained the thought of moving on if I wasn’t convinced that the foundations we’ve laid in Australia and Singapore are rock solid.

Of course there’s always more to do and I look forward to handing over the reins of muru-D to the person who can take this wonderful program to the next stage and make it even more awesome. The recruitment of that person is not just important to me (I want to hand my baby to the right person after all!) but also to the extraordinary muru-D team, our founders and to Telstra.

We need someone fantastic and we want to leave no stone unturned in finding them.

So who is this person? Have a read of this list…maybe you recognise yourself

The head of muru-D:

-       Wants to make a positive contribution to the startup ecosystem in Australia and South East Asia – this is about continuously improving our program so it leaves a legacy for generations to come.

-       Has gravitas and ability to influence in corporate environments – you need to be the voice of inspiration and able to articulate the value of ecosystem development for the long haul.

-       Constantly looking for opportunities to develop connections and commercial relationships for our portfolio back into Telstra and other international corporates.

-       Oozes heart and passion for the whole ecosystem.

-       Leads a team by example, by empowerment and inspiring everyone around them.

-       Has considerable experience with early stage and scale up stage of startups and knows how to impart advice through coaching and mentoring.

-       Has international experience of other startup markets and has their finger on the pulse of what other ecosystems are doing.

-       Cares more about founders and doing the right thing rather than about personal gain.

So – if you think this sounds like you or someone you know, please get in touch. I’d love to meet them, my email is [email protected]
