Filler Words to Fill Your Full Speech

Filler Words to Fill Your Full Speech

Every time I listen to a speaker, I learn. Attending an NSA chapter event, I discovered the power of a speaker's uniform. One speaker shared her strategy of using 26 shiny jackets, each for two videos per year. It was interesting how a wardrobe choice could differentiate her. However, a sparkly jacket wouldn't suit me.

A crucial lesson I learn is about language usage, specifically the overuse of filler phrases. The one that bothers me is ending sentences with "right?" or "ok?" without waiting for an answer. Speakers may seek reassurance but fail to pause and engage. This technique reflects insecurity about their value to the audience.

To overcome this, embrace your role as an expert during sessions. No need to check in constantly. I address this in my pocketbook called "Eight Filler Words/Phrases to Ditch from Your Speaking," a starting point for improving your speaking skills.

Removing filler words enhances efficiency, strengthens points, and amplifies your message. Learn more at https://trevorperry.com/filler-words-to-fill-your-full-speech/. Let's master impactful communication.
