Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network Welcomes Four Accomplished Representatives to Strengthen Global Presence

In a landmark move, the Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network proudly announces the appointment of four distinguished individuals as country representatives, reinforcing its commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange within the global nursing community.

Dr. Patricia Punzalan, a seasoned senior nursing executive with more than two decades of leadership experience can bring value in expanding the organization's influence across the United States as a representative. Dr. Punzalan is passionate about the "crucial role of collective experiences in advancing and elevating the practice environment among our nurses in the international arena."

Currently pursuing his second Ph.D. in Health Policy at McMaster University, Dr. Jonathan Cura is dedicated to shaping health policies that positively impact nursing practices. "Representing Canada in the Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network is an honor. This platform allows us to share insights, discuss challenges, and work towards fostering a supportive environment for Filipino nurses around the world," Dr. Jonathan expressed.

Dhenny Dagos, a clinical nursing specialist with a wealth of hands-on experience, will represent New Zealand. He emphasized the significance of promoting cultural competency within nursing, stating, "I look forward to facilitating a better understanding of our unique perspectives and practices in New Zealand while learning from the experiences of fellow Filipino nurses worldwide."

Representing Ireland, Kelvin Bruce Basquial, an assistant director of nursing for an aged care facility in Limerick, highlighted the importance of unity among Filipino nurses globally. "Our shared background creates a bond that transcends borders. I am excited to collaborate with my counterparts to address common challenges and celebrate our successes," Kelvin expressed.

The leadership team of the Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network highlighted the organization's commitment to fostering a sense of community among Filipino nurses globally. "We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Punzalan, Dr. Jonathan, Dhenny, and Kelvin to our network. This announcement follows the recent designation of country representatives from Oman and the United Arab Emirates earlier this year, further expanding the network's reach and impact.
