…Just for fun. From CBR.com, “While "shaken, not stirred," has long been an iconic line for James Bond, the reverse could be an M16 code.
James Bond has many iconic lines, but one of his most famous is "shaken, not stirred." Given martins are typically stirred to prevent over aerating the cocktail, at first glance, Bond's iconic drink order seems like an unusual preference. However, a recent Reddit theory suggests the opposite order, "stirred, not shaken," is a secret MI6 code used to communicate with informants.”
“There have been some variants of his drink order that may lend some credence to this theory. For example, in Casino Royale, Bond orders a vodka martini. The bartender then inquires whether he wants it shaken or stirred, to which Bond replies, "Do I look like I give a damn?" As mentioned above, it would be unusual for someone to ask this as martinis are often stirred. This could suggest the bartender may have an inkling who Bond is but wants confirmation that he is with MI6. Considering Bond's cocktail of choice is unusual, it may be a way of identifying undercover informants. A regular bartender is likely to prepare a shaken martini as requested without question. This would also apply to an informant who has nothing to report.”
