FIGHT OF FAITH

 “Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12

Paul brings us into understanding of the Christian power to living the victorious life, he said it is in the fight of faith. No believer can enjoy the victory that Christ has purchased for him or her if they are not standing up for their right in accordance to the Word of God.

The battle has been fought and the victory has been won already through the sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. However, it is expected of us to bring into manifestation in our lives that which has been done for us already and to do that we must fight the fight of faith.

How do we fight the fight of faith? It is in declaring what the Word says concerning us, taking our place in the Word through payers and standing firm on the confession of our faith without wavering.

The Devil is the enemy of our glory our joy, peace and prosperity; he will do and is doing everything in his power to rob people of their blessings, and so we must resist him. James admonished us to, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7.

       To resist is to fight, to oppose, to refrain, to refuse and to withstand. We must overcome the wicked ones evil works through the prayer of faith. We must refuse to be where the enemy wants us to be, we must not give up but are to persevere until our change comes.

Now before we can resist the devil, James said we must first submit ourselves to God. This is because it is Him that supplies us with the grace to fight our battles, for His power is made perfect in our weakness. Without the presence of the Holy Spirit of God in our fight of faith we are helpless, because the arm of flesh will always fail us but faith in the power of God and the Word of God will never fail.

Therefore as we fight the fight of faith let us fix our eyes on Jesus, trust Him, submit to Him, and reverence Him for it is Him who gives us grace and strength to overcome.
