The fight against PFAS has only just begun
A remarkable celebration: Aqua New Jersey management and Honorable from Lawrence, NJ, formally open a PFAS treatment plant.

The fight against PFAS has only just begun

Less than a week earlier, the EPA had announced its final maximum contaminant level for PFAS chemicals. "When we saw the rising levels in Lawrenceville, we decided to begin the design process and get ahead of it before we were in any danger of violations," said Adam Burger, PE Water/ Wastewater Utility Operations Leader at Aqua New Jersey.

The new PFAS abatement removal system (see picture above - clearly visible in the background) is expected to cost a total of 3 million US dollars.

The new $3 million treatment system is coming just nearly a week after the EPA announced the first national standards to limit PFAS.

"Specifically for Aqua New Jersey, we're looking at probably $70-80 million to remediate all the sites contaminated with PFAS", Burger explained.

Aqua New Jersey cleans the first well's water of PFAS to bring it into compliance with new laws. And many other will follow. A gigantic task.

The water harvesting process of Agua de Sol's SunAir Fountain? Panels automatically delivers pure drinking water that complies with US and European laws.

Luc Métivier , CEO of AGUA DE SOL recently said the following in Grenoble in an interview with Véronique PILON for the INNOVATION BOOK – Magazine:

Métivier: "Our SunAir Fountain? panels provide pure drinking water. Laboratory tests show that it contains no PFAS, bisphenol or microplastics.

Two types of filters retain the particles, then the adsorbent captures the water molecules - only the water molecules. Then an activated carbon filter, and mineralized, pure drinking water comes out of our panels."

Aqua New Jersey's system uses resin beads, which act as a magnet, to remove PFAS from Lawrenceville's drinking water. This system is expected to be fully operational on May 1. schreibt CBS News. And many more will follow. A gigantic task. Its system is expected to be fully operational by May 1st. writes CBS News.

And for Luc Mètivier one thing is very clear: "We have to work together. Companies like Aqua New Jersey, who are ridding the world of substances like PFAS, and we, who are not putting PFAS into the environment in the first place.
