The ongoing FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is expected to be the last world cup of 2 of the greatest players of all time i.e., Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. This is probably the 1st time in the history of Football that 2 players have dominated on a global stage in the past 16+ years. Messi who hails from Argentina and Ronaldo who is from Portugal, of them have created a huge fan base and everyone is expecting either of the two teams to emerge victorious this year because of the players. Let's see what this world cup has in store for the fans and how the advancement in sports analytics will prove to be beneficial for the game.


What is VAR Technology?

First things first, VAR stands for Video Assistant Referee and makes use of video technology to add more accuracy to the on-field referee's decisions. A Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and three other assistant video assistant referees make up the VAR team.


What's the use of VAR Technology in Football?

During an OFR, the VAR transmits several video replays from different camera angles to assist the referee in making a decision. Once an OFR is completed, the referee makes the TV signal again, before indicating the decision made.


The game is moving forward each day and it is not quite sure who might take up the lead at what given point in time. Fans are excited as well as heartbroken with watching their favorite players or teams roll out of the match.
