Welcome to this week's CloudBites Weekly where this week we have resources for developers, those working with Salesforce Field Service, a sprinkling of AI news, and a fantastic new event opening its call for speakers. Let's dive on in!
Field Service Utils
Salesforce Field Service can be one of the more complicated products on the platform to work with during implementation due to the complex nature of the different types of data in the product. Patrick Brinksma from Salesforce has compiled a fantastic set of resources to help make this much easier for you!
As you can see in Patrick's post , he has compiled Salesforce Field Service Utils on GitHub to help create a whole variety of different pieces of data for you to help you get started. Having worked with Field Service in the past and spoken to friends and colleagues implementing more recently, I know how much of a help this will be to everyone working on Field Service projects, so make sure to check it out and give it a try. And a huge thank you to Partick for compiling such a useful resource!
Managed Event Subscriptions in the Salesforce Postman Collection
I hope most people are already aware of the fantastic Salesforce Postman Collection to help you get up and running with the Salesforce APIs (you may remember us sharing it had won an award!) Neha Ahlawat from Salesforce shared a post this week which highlighted how the Managed Event Subscriptions Beta can now be tested in the latest version of the Postman collection!
For those not familiar with Managed Event Subscriptions , it is a beta feature for the Pub/Sub API that makes it easier for you to manage the handling of events on a client without having to worry about storing the Replay Id locally, instead you tell the service the last message the client processed and when you reconnect it will restart for you from the correct location in the bus. Have a look at the linked documentation and the example requests in the Postman collection to get started.
Salesforce Generative Lightning Canvas
This week, Clara Shih shared a post revealing Salesforce Generative Lightning Canvas , a pilot product with one of the coolest product announcement videos I have ever seen.

As you can see in the video shared in the post, the tool generates insights, notes, and actions for you from a variety of data sources and is able to integrate with meeting software as well. This is a pilot at the moment being turned into a product now. I hope to see this live soon and think this could be immense. The post also links to a Salesforce Research Blog Post and the AppExchange preview app so head over and check them out.
Irish Dreamin' Call for Speakers is Open!
Irish Dreamin , the latest Salesforce Community event has its call for speakers now open for it's inaugural event in 2025.
As you can see in the announcement post , you have until December 13th to get your submissions in, so get those thinking caps on and get submitting for what should be an amazing event!
ApexGuru Coding Antipatterns Page
Another announcement from Salesforce, this time form Mayuresh Verma who shared that there is now a page dedicated to sharing all the Apex antipatterns that ApexGuru will look for.
You can read more in Mayuresh's post here , but if you are a Salesforce developer or architect go and read through this site and bookmark it. The page provides a great list of antipatterns that you should avoid in your code as well recommendations on how to resolve the issue. A fantastic free resource!
