Fidelity steps up through virtual volunteerism
As social distancing continues to keep many of us separated from colleagues, friends, and family, it has been challenging to find ways to stay connected to our local communities. Just as we provide our customers with guidance and financial tools to navigate through life stages and reach their financial goals, we use a similar approach for the communities where our associates work and live. But our traditional ways of giving back have been temporarily sidelined by the circumstances arising from the COVID-19 crisis.
On Fidelity Cares Day last year, thousands of our associates took time away from work to support hundreds of community partners and schools, but that level of in-person activity is not possible in the current environment. We turned to our associates to find creative alternatives, and they helped us pivot to a new approach. This past week, we expressed our commitment to community involvement in a new way, as thousands of our associates from across the country and around the globe joined forces for a week of virtual volunteerism. Each day of the week had a different theme, including thanking a teacher or nurse, donating money, and environmental sustainability.
Fidelity Cares Week will amplify and help expand the community initiatives we have focused on over the past few months, such as providing help to students and their families. We also have ongoing efforts with other nonprofit organizations, such as the National Council for Economic Education and the JumpStart Coalition, to conduct financial literacy training for teachers across the country. Even though we have been forced to move this training to virtual sessions in recent months, these efforts continue to make an impact.
Fostering an environment where our associates are proud to work, and our customers are proud to do business, have always been core values at Fidelity. Thank you to everyone taking part in volunteer activities to support local communities and causes.

7 个月Hi sorry to message you on here randomly but I’m hoping you can help. I lost my grandad last year my Mums Dad. Since this has happened we have been treated very very badly by your company. We are ignored and told false information on a weekly basis. My Grandad was a long time customer of yours and he would be very upset this is how we are being treated. I am looking for help for me and my family on this matter. I can see from linked in you have lost your dad in the last few years so you know how upsetting that is alone. The stress of your company is all to much for us. I feel this is a racism issue and I hope you do not think this is ok. You have money that belongs to us that was left to us but you are refusing to let it go. Please can you get in touch with me so we can look at moving forward. Also very sorry for the loss of your Dad.
