Fidelity reveals what you’ll spend on healthcare in retirement (It's a lot!)

Are you factoring in healthcare costs when it comes to your retirement planning? According to Fidelity Investments’ Retiree Health Care Cost Estimate report, a 65-year-old couple retiring in 2022 can anticipate spending $315,000 in health and medical expenses throughout their retirement. Single women are anticipated to spend $165,000 throughout retirement, and men will spend an average of $150,000. But there are helpful tools available — like an HSA — that can ease the burden and ensure your health and wealth in the future.?

Employers have invested time and resources on making sure they’re keeping up with employees’ wellness demands — but is it working? A recent survey from people analytics platform Visier found that 80% of executives believe their company is doing a good job supporting the physical and mental health of employees, compared to only 46% of employees. Managers and employees also disagree on things like remote work policies, post-pandemic business strategies, and upskilling and training opportunities. If they don’t get on the same page soon, employers should anticipate workers looking elsewhere.?
