Virgin Media adds 12,000 homes to Exmouth network
Virgin Media is continuing to roll out its gigabit broadband across Exmouth, and now more than 12,000 more homes can sign up. Rajiv Datta , CEO at nexfibre said:?“nexfibre’s multi-million-pound investment in Exmouth will enable thousands to access the benefits of full fibre broadband, including being able to participate in the local economy and connect with the community.
CityFibre connects 30,000 Bracknell residents
CityFibre has completed the primary-build of its full fibre network in Bracknell – the latest town in its nationwide rollout, meaning that over 30,000 residents are now ready for service. Construction began on the £20m project in 2021 and while the primary-build is now complete. Neil Madle , Partnership Manager at CityFibre, said: “Our rollout in Bracknell marks a step forward for digital connectivity across the town.”
Quickline reduces digital barriers to employment in Calderdale
Quickline Communications Limited has teamed up with the Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC) and is contributing to its grant scheme that supports charities and community organisations in the west Yorkshire region to reduce digital barriers to employment. Quickline is rolling out broadband in these Calderdale communities as part of Project Gigabit, and the CCFC partnership is a key component of the altnet provider’s social values commitments under the contract.

Openreach tests ‘hyperfast’ FTTP future with Nokia
Openreach ?and?Nokia?have successfully tested the UK’s first live 50Gbps broadband connection, using technology that can deliver speeds twenty times faster than the fastest broadband services available in the UK. Trevor Linney , Director, Network Technology at Openreach said:?“The full fibre network we’re building today is a platform for the UK’s economic, social and environmental prosperity.”
