In a frequency of Fibonacci numbers, each number is the sum of the two numbers that precede it. The wonderful thing about this type of sequence is that it can be found in the design that nature uses to create forms of life, time and space with astonishing perfection. The ancient Greeks achieved perfect and very beautiful forms, using what is called the Golden Ratio or “Golden Ratio” PHI, obtained from these sequences.
The design of the universe has abundant evidence of this wonderful and surprising pattern. Regardless of whether we are talking about the spirals we see in galaxies or those we find in plants, there is a pattern in most things that is recognizable and fascinating.
These patterns are mathematical. They have captured the imagination of philosophers, artists and scientists of all ages and eras. Great architects, artists, musicians have incorporated these mathematical patterns into their work because they recognize that the use of these patterns generally gives their work a more pleasant effect to the eye and ear and gives it a beauty and balance in harmony with the world. natural.
These mathematical patterns have been recognized and defined with mathematical proportions such as the Golden Ratio, or the golden ratio, the divine proportion or the golden angle of approximately 137.5 degrees. Many plants use this ratio in the genetic algorithm that governs their growth.
The shapes that plants acquire follow a pattern, as do the roots, stem, petals, etc. from a central point called a meristem. Each new organ develops from the center in a new direction, forming an angle with respect to the previous growth.
They often grow in the shape of a logarithmic spiral. The process is highly efficient as it uses the Fibonacci golden ratio. The golden ratio can also be found in architecture, literature, music and even in our DNA. Many Renaissance artists such as Da Vinci, Phidias used this golden ratio to create works that became a fascination for humanity.
Nature presents us with this Golden Ratio in many of the designs of marine animals, mollusks, shells, the design patterns of animals, the proportions of the human body, the design of the DNA molecule, the shape that hurricanes take, etc…
The spiral that uses the Golden Ratio and with which Nature creates the shapes of Mollusks. DNA Double Helix uses ratios of 21 and 13 Angstroms in its design which constitute two consecutive numbers of a Fibonacci sequence
Great architectural designs such as the Parthenon incorporate these proportions to achieve great harmony and beauty.
The Eden Project in St Austell, South England innovates the concept of Geodesic Domes or Biodomes and uses Fibonacci sequences
Great writers have incorporated the Fibonacci sequence as the base structure of their works. Some Roman and Sanskrit poets like Virgil used these proportions in his poetry. Mozart, Bach, Debussy, Beethoven and other great composers in their music. Stradivarius used it to build his famous violins.
The Fibonacci Waltz, for example, is a composition whose theme has been derived from the Fibonacci sequence where the first 6 numbers of the sequence (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13) are associated or point to the first, second, third. , fifth and thirteenth note of the scale. Using the chromatic tone scale or diatonic scale, the white keys on the keyboard correspond to the sequence C, D, E, G, C and A. To accommodate longer sequences, the scale must be repeated indefinitely and ignore the octave. For example, the following sequence is derived from the first 48 numbers of a Fibonacci sequence.
C D E G C A B A A G F D A C B C C D E G C A B A A G F D A C B C C D E G C A B A A G F D A C B C
We have heard little about the use of Fibonacci in Business but recently modern trends have appeared that seek to associate the presence of certain patterns with the successful outcome of a Business.
For example, we could use Fibonacci sequences to predict the Future Value of a financial variable associated with the Company's performance. Other professionals are looking to use Fibonacci Ratios in predicting the Stock Market or Stock Market or the resistance value of a certain stock. In the Financial Markets, Fibonacci ratios are being used to predict rises and falls.
Let us seek to build a society that promotes Innovation and the Design of Products and Businesses in an Intelligent way based on golden proportions, whether those of Fibonacci or those that seek harmony and balance just as nature does. For a reason, nature has used it in its most fascinating creations for millions of years and with great success.
