Fibertime?? comes to Cape Town!
After more than a year of planning, we finally started making fibertime?? live in Mfuleni, a township in Cape Town, yesterday.?
It wasn’t easy.?
Construction “forums”, protection rackets, wayleaves, floods, you name it, we had to overcome it.?
But now we’re there. By Christmas, every home in Mfuleni will have fibertime?? in the home.?
That means over 100,000 people will have uncapped 100 Mbps fiber for R5/day.?
100,000 people will have the freedom of the internet—the freedom to learn online, to earn online, and to play online.?
The Cape Flats are a drop in the ocean, but at least we’ve finally broken the seal. There is a crack in the dam wall. Soon, the crack will widen, the dam wall will collapse, and we can flood the Cape Flats with fibertime??.
?
Cape Town is now the third town in South Africa to get fibertime??, after Stellenbosch and Qheberha (Port Elizabeth).?
