FGCU students attend Chartered Market Technician (CMT) conference in Tampa, FL.
It's been a busy week for FGCU students! After attending the CFA Society of Naples Forecast Dinner (featuring keynote speakers Tom Lee of FundStrat and Meghan Shue of Wilmington Trust), several FGCU students then made the 2 1/2 hour drive up to Tampa to attend the CMT Association Midwinter Retreat.
Widely considered the gold standard in technical analysis among industry practitioners, the CMT designation demonstrates that you have mastery of a core body of knowledge of investment risk in portfolio management, including quantitative approaches to market research and rules-based trading system design and testing.
At the conference, students got to meet technical analysis legends Robert J. Farrell and Walter Deemer, sit in on various presentations from current industry practitioners from Piper Sandler, Fidelity, Lowry Research, Macro Risk Advisors, and Kingsview Wealth Management, and learn about new financial product innovations including Target Outcome Return, Levered and Inverse ETFs.
