A few way to check the workmanship of a pair of jean
- Fell well seam at yoke/back rise/inseam
Turn the pant inside out, you can see many of the unnoticeable stitching.
Fell well seam hide the seam allowance and make the sample a more clean look, instead of merrow stitching which more visible thread, fell well seam has better adorable of the tearing strength. Honestly, the productive efficiency of merrow stitching is better, but hand-work quality is uneven. For sure, add binding to cover the merrow thread is better way, need more work.
-Stitching at crotch&join seam of yoke and back rise.
Good workmanship has match joining stitching, mismatch join thread will bring some crinkle and might bring kind of uncomfortable wearing feeling.?
-Belt loop sewed into W.B and adding reinforce under the bar-tack
As chemical washing will more or less broken the fabric construction, the reinforce will reduce the tear issue of wearing pant
-Must have clear finish hem and open press side seam
-Touch the inner W.B to feel the chain stitching if hard and prickly. Good jean won’t
-Smooth zipper: Can check the zipper if has logo and if pull smoothly.
In other words, the fabric and the washing color are also the important part of a good pair of jean, but pay attention to above point you can pick a good jean.?
