Among all the negativity and economic crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic, I would like to point out some probable social, behavioural, and economic changes that the world might see in the coming years.
1. Due to corona, most of the people are working from home. Even the government has allowed staff associated with non-essential services to work from home. In organisations where WFH was a strict NO earlier, the managers can see that WFH can also bring out quality work. Hope there will be a major policy change in such organisations in the near future.
2. Many corporates have clearly got a hint that many face-to-face meeting and business travel were just unnecessary. Just a video conference can save hundreds of dollar spent on travel and related expenses.
3. But the downside is that this behavioural change may not be a piece of good news for aviation and hotel industries.
4. People have started realising that most of the money is spent on luxury and non-essential things. Thanks or curse to this extended lockdown. I would not be surprised if a significant section of people changes their views towards money and wealth in post corona days. Many might leave running behind money and focusing on mental satisfaction on a priority basis.
5. The tourism pattern is definitely going to change. With Europe being the worst hit, people will explore the fewer hit countries and many other less known destinations will find an important place in the world tourism map in the next few years.
6. World politics and its agenda may change. People might demand better healthcare above anything else. The future leaders will be those who can assess the people's mind in these changed conditions.
7. The way people greet each other will see a drastic change. People will switch to “Namaskar” from a handshake and facial kiss.
8. School education in developing countries will see a methodical change. More and more content will be digitised. Teachers will be required to upgraded with digital skills to teach remotely and use digital aid more in the classroom.
9. A bunch of new successful start-ups will be created on the field of personal hygiene, PPEs, indigenous medical equipment and medicine.
10. I will not be surprised if a section of people switches, at least partially, to local grocery stores. In a country like India, people have understood that online retailers are not the one to rely upon during an emergency.
11. Last but not the least, people will maintain more and more personal hygiene.

4 年Nicely observed. Few more points, I would like to add 1. Human beings have already witnessed nothing beyond science. Fighting for mere religious sentiment becomes unimportant. 2. Human beings also observed that the mother nature loves every living beings equally.
