Festive Feelings 2018...

Festive Feelings 2018...

Unsurprisingly, its nearly Christmas again, and I am sure many of you will agree that’s 2018 has been an absolute whirlwind and for some reason feels like it’s gone much quicker than past years!

We naturally look forward to the new year, the resolutions, the changes we all pledge to make and set out to make both personal and professional developments for greater success next year.

For some bonkers reason, we seem to think that January 1st is a fresh start, and a chance to start anew and reinvent ourselves.

2018 bought a decision for a ‘career change’ for me, to leave my Unico Family and embark on a new adventure at Blue Arrow in a brand new team.

For me, as a recruiter (in every form that that this wonderful industry takes) I self-evaluate regularly and this year I have found myself to have a year full of challenges, plenty of things to celebrate, fond memories to look back on and some great career highs but in light of the rising issue of Mental Health at work, I too have had my downfalls, my tears, trials and tribulations along the way, if anyone in the recruitment industry says anything other than this then frankly, they are lying - honesty and integrity is everything and no truer words can be said in the work place than that!

However, I wish to ask you... when do you take time to reflect and reward yourself for the achievements you have undoubtedly had in the last 12 months?

When do you reflect on those downward spirals to acknowledge your returned path of success?

What would you tell yourself this time next year because I guarantee it’s a positive affirmation to ‘keep going’ to ‘be the best version of yourself’ or a simple ‘well done girl, you did it!’

My advice to you is to take a moment as we all begin to wind down for the festive season to reflect on our individual achievements and evaluate how you will create your own successes in 2019 no matter how big or small they may be and too challenge yourself, write down your goals, say them out loud, be accountable for your decisions, share your joys and always focus on what can still be achieved. The best thing about aiming high and achieving is aiming even higher again! I am a firm believer in empowerment, a positive mindset and the joys that manifestation can bring - make yourself accountable and stand proud when you achieve your goal and tell EVERYONE about it!

It is important to celebrate your successes and be proud of your achievements, if it doesn't go the way you planned, evaluate and try again! Use every experience as a chance to learn and improve. There is a fine line between our personal and professional lives, however it’s important to maintain a positive balance between the two – a ‘blend’ if you like as championed here at Blue Arrow.

If 2019 is looking like the year for 'CHANGE' for you... then start to make that change today, do not dwell and wait for the status quo to manipulate your mind to commence from 01/01/2019 - be the king or queen of your own castle and take control now. If your vision of 'Change' involves a career move, take the opportunity to put your out there with the support of a specialist recruitment agency, they are there to help you every step of the way from CV writing to interview advise to celebrating your new job with you - its more than a job, recruitment is a lifestyle that may of us are very proud to be involved with enhancing peoples lives... team work makes the dream work!

It’s the season to be jolly... so jolly I shall be as 2019 holds my biggest challenge to date… MARRIAGE!

Wishing you all a very 'Merry Christmas' and a wonderful New Year.

My last Christmas as Miss Ashleigh Partridge

Enjoy your festivities LinkedIn
