FERRARI 296 GT3 - Case History
FERRARI 296 GT3
Ferrari 296 GT3 is the last automotive I’ve been working on with the international director – as well as a friend – Nicolò Bravetta. We had already worked together on Lamborghini, and I had no doubt we would have create something crazy. Also, this shooting is special as it gave me the chance to work for the Italian finest automotive company, none other than Ferrari.
The shooting was quite hard, since we had to work in a photographic studio, which means multiple footage to take in tiny spaces; also, it’s been a challenge to lend dynamism to a still car.
THE LIGHT SCHEME
As you can see, it was a complex light scheme; to reach the desired output, the lights played a key role as we needed to recall the brand and to convey dynamism, so i decided to use warm tones such as red and orange with two Gemini 2x1 (one set on red and the other one set on orange) and two Gemini 1x1 set on red.
As shown in the image below, there's light coming out of multiple spots, under the car, from the air vents... I used two different types of Astera: The Astera Titan just beneath the car body and the Astera Pavotube inside the air vents to exploit every shot at its best.
